DCFS Approved

We are finally approved to adopt are kiddos! DCFS approved our subsidy last week. We are now waiting to have the kids served for court and then hear when our court date will be. We feel so blessed to finally be in this position. We truly could not be happier about everything. It has been a very long and bumpy road, but God has carried us through! Looking forward to having all of this finalized!!!

Our Current Foster/Adoption Timeline

8/9/10-3 foster children returned home after living with us for 2.5 years.

8/20/10-Recieved a phone call about taking a placement of 2 boys aged 5 and 6. Decision needs to be made by Monday.

8/22/10-Made the decision to accept the placement of the 2 boys A&C.

8/23/10-A&C came to live with us.

9/4/10- Scheduled sibling visit with the boys' sister, L, was canceled.

9/24/10- First sibling visit with L at our house. We'd like her to move her too, not sure if that's a possibility.

10/15/10- Second sibling visit with L. Looks like sometime in the future she will move in.

10/25/10- Boys receive a phone call from their birthmother. Case worker was here to supervise.

10/29/10-Lacy moves in with us!!

11/3/10- Children have a visit with their birthmom.

11/5/10-Birthmom relapses.

11/8/10- Jen attends ACR for children. No other parents attend.

11/19/10-Kids visit their aunt for the first time since L moved in.

12/20/10-Court hearing. Canceled.

1/10/11-Rescheduled court hearing. Goal changed to 24, termination of rights.

Summer 2011--Series of termination hearings. Final termination hearing set for September.

9/11-Parental rights terminated. Best interest set for October.

10/26/11--Best interest postponed. Bonding assessment is needed.

12/14-12/18/11-Bonding assessments completed.

1/6/12-Court postponed.

2/8/12-Best interest hearing--Goal changed to adoption!

2/24/12-Final visit (and hubby's birthday)

3/8/12-Termination of rights appealed by both parents.

6/15/12- Termination appeal denied. We can move forward with the adoption.

8/20/12-Subsidy paperwork completed. Schedule meeting with attorney.

8/30/12-Meeting with attorney to review all paperwork.

9/14/12- Subsidy paperwork mailed to DCFS

9/20/12-DCFS approved our subsidy!!

11/30/12-Adoption Hearing---We are a forever family!!!!
